Gary Riveles and Doug Singleterry author Op. Ed in New Jersey Law Journal

The firm is pleased to announce that Gary Riveles and Doug Singleterry have authored an opinion piece in the New Jersey Law Journal critiquing the recent Appellate Division decision in Vares-Ebert v. Kelberg. That decision concluded that the New Jersey Health Care Consumer Information Act precluded a defendant physician attempting to settle a medical negligence matter from negotiating a non-disclosure agreement as part of the settlement. The authors conclude that this decision misconstrues the reach of the law and could have a chilling effect on settlement negotiations in future cases.
