Douglas Singleterry specializes in medical malpractice defense, representing physicians, hospitals and nurses in all stages of pre-trial litigation. He has also handled automobile insurance coverage disputes and arbitration.
Mr. Singleterry has been published in the New Jersey Law Journal, New Jersey Lawyer, Medical Malpractice Law& Strategy and The Legal Intelligencer on issues pertaining to health care law. In addition, he wrote an article on the international law of genocide that was published in the peer review journal, Genocide Studies and Prevention by the University of Toronto Press. His commentary on this topic was also featured in the National Law Journal. Mr. Singleterry is serving his second term on the North Plainfield Borough Council and is president of the Somerset County Governing Officials Association. He served as chapter chair of the former Tri-County Red Cross and is currently a board member of the Raritan Valley Chapter of the Red Cross. Mr. Singleterry received the Service to the Community Award from the New Jersey State Bar Association Young Lawyers Division in 2007. Mr. Singleterry obtained a J.D. from New York Law School in 2002 and a B.A. from Drew University in 1997. Following law school, he law clerked for the Honorable Roberto Alcazar in the New Jersey Superior Court. |
