Louis John Dughi, Jr. teaches Video Deposition Strategy and Tactics at well received NJICLE seminar

On March 10, 2017 John Dughi gave a presentation to trial lawyers regarding video depositions, their use, strategy and tactics. Mr. Dughi reviewed the relevant statutes, case law and rules of evidence pertaining to video depositions both for discovery purposes and trial testimony sharing his vast experience with this modality of discovery and presentation of evidence. He reviewed the benefits and potential pitfalls of the use of video such as the possibility of adverse testimony by a retained expert at a de bene esse deposition being used by an adversary under Fitzgerald v. Roberts, Inc., 186 N.J. 286 (2006) and provided many useful practice points to the audience.

Craig Domalewski and Brandon Minde to Speak on CLE Panel: “How to Keep Your Company in Business When Facing Criminal Charges or Regulatory Action.”

Craig Domalewski and Brandon Minde will be speakers at this CLE presentation at the New Jersey State Bar Association Annual Meeting in Atlantic City on May 19, 2016. The presentation will focus on the challenges imposed on a business facing criminal charges or regulatory action. Top white collar crime criminal defense and regulatory attorneys will discuss what to do when a business and/or its officers is being investigated by a regulator or charged for state criminal activity related to the business. Speakers will discuss how to navigate this complex minefield to ensure the company can stay solvent and in business, and how the use of outside consulting firms can be an effective tool in responding to a criminal or regulatory investigation. Other panelists include the New Jersey Acting Attorney General Robert Lougy (confirmed) and Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey (invited).

Brandon D. Minde to be Moderator for Forensic Document Examination CLE Presentation

Brandon D. Minde will be the moderator for a New Jersey State Bar Association continuing legal education presentation entitled “Forensic Document Examination.” This presentation will serve as a general introduction for attorneys practicing in white collar crime matters to the variety of problems involving physical evidence on document, current methodology, standards and research in the field. The presentation will take place at the New Jersey Law Center on February 3, 2016.
