Shawna K. Bishop

Shawna K. Bishop joined the firm in May 2019 as of counsel. Ms. Bishop’s practice focuses on the representation of healthcare professionals and aging services facilities in medical malpractice litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Bishop was an Associate Litigation Attorney for CNA Insurance Company, focusing on medical malpractice claims.

Prior to entering law, Shawna was employed as a licensed social worker in various medical settings, with experience in Section 8 property and contract management. Shawna’s experience as a social worker, dealing primarily with the elderly, enabled her to understand the complexities of the responsibilities her clients face every day and how important that is to the role she plays in bringing that story to the jury.

Ms. Bishop is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. She received her law degree from Rutgers University School of Law – Newark, where she was a member of the Moot Court Board and an Articles Editor on the Women’s Rights Law Reporter. Ms. Bishop received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University and her undergraduate degree from Providence College. She currently serves as a Board Trustee of Community Enterprises Corporation, a not-for-profit that manages permanent supportive housing in New Jersey for adults with special needs.
