Cara N. Anan

Ms. Anan joined Dughi, Hewit & Domalewski in 2021 where she focuses her practice in matrimonial and family law. Upon graduating from New York Law School in 2020, Ms. Anan clerked for The Honorable Richard W. English, P.J.F.P., in Monmouth County, New Jersey.

As the Co-Coordinator of the Courtroom Advocates Project (CAP) at New York Law School, Ms. Anan interviewed clients in New York State’s Domestic Violence Courts under the supervision of attorneys from the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG).

In 2019, Ms. Anan served as the Diane Abbey Law Institute for Children and Families Research Fellow. During this fellowship, Ms. Anan worked on the Marriage License Project, assisting clients on marriage fraud cases. Ms. Anan also acted as the court evaluator under Article 81 of New York’s Mental Hygiene Law as part of the Guardianship Clinic.

Ms. Anan completed internships during law school and undergraduate at several firms and organizations, including the Borough of Madison, Morris County Superior Court, Kings County Family Court, and the New Jersey Department of Children and Families.

As an undergraduate at Drew University, Ms. Anan held various leadership roles and completed several internships. Ms. Anan was a writing fellow, tutor, President of Colleges Against Cancer, Student Advisor for the Baldwin Honors Advisory Committee, Student Assistant to President MaryAnn Baenninger, and the Vivian A. Bull Emerging Leaders Fellow. Additionally, she volunteered over 100 hours per year with various organizations as part of the Civil Scholar Program.

Ms. Anan was named a Division III All-America Scholar-Athlete in 2013-14 for her academic achievements while playing college-level softball. She also played intramural basketball. She is a lifelong resident of Middlesex County, New Jersey.

Ms. Anan is admitted to practice in New Jersey, U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and New York.
