First licensed to practice in New Jersey in 1980, Mr. Jacobs next was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1982. On the federal level, he is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, U.S. District Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Federal District Court. He is a member of the New Jersey, Florida and Bergen County Bar Associations.
During Mr. Jacobs’ 44-year legal career, he has successfully defended Hospitals, Doctors, Dentists, Nurses, Chiropractors, Podiatrists and other allied health care professionals against medical negligence suits and has represented many health care practitioners before their respective professional licensing boards. He has also represented lawyers and other professionals in defense of professional malpractice claims. For 15 plus years, he formerly served as general counsel to a community hospital and served as a member of its Bio-ethics Committee. Mr. Jacobs has conducted mock trials and presented seminars in order to familiarize health care professionals with the legal system and to assist them in preventing such claims and in presenting a more effective defense against lawsuits when they are brought.
