Richard S. Panitch

Mr. Panitch joined Dughi, Hewit & Domalewski in 2022 as a partner.

Mr. Panitch is a 1989 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School where he was in the top ten percent of his law school class. He was awarded the Philadelphia Trial Lawyer’s Award for outstanding achievement in trial advocacy and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.  Mr. Panitch also represented the University of Pennsylvania in the prestigious National Moot Court Competition.

Throughout his career, Mr. Panitch has had diverse trial experience in multiple facets of litigation with a special emphasis on complex litigation including the litigation and trial of cases involving severe personal injury, employment discrimination and civil rights.   He has been involved in high profile cases including matters against the Morris County Sheriff’s Department and its elected Sheriff as well as litigation against numerous major corporations.  While Mr. Panitch is a zealous and tireless litigator, he prides himself on coming up with creative solutions to benefit his clients.

He has interned for the Honorable Dolores K. Sloviter, former Chief Judge for the United States Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and he has been associated with major law firms in New Jersey.  Prior to coming to Dughi, Hewit & Domalewski, Mr. Panitch co-chaired the litigation department of a law firm in Monmouth County where he was their lead trial attorney.  In 2021, Mr. Panitch was selected by a vote of his peers to be included in Monmouth Health and Life Magazine’s 2021 list of top lawyers in personal injury and labor law in Monmouth County.

Mr. Panitch is actively involved in secondary education and in his community.  He previously taught law at Sussex Community College.  Mr. Panitch also is actively involved on behalf of his alma mater, the University of Pennsylvania.  He currently conducts interviews of students that have applied to the University of Pennsylvania for the School’s Secondary School Committee and he was the former Executive Vice President of the University of Pennsylvania’s Central New Jersey Alumni Club.   Mr. Panitch and his wife,  Heather, have four daughters and three dogs, all of whom enjoy the sunshine and walks on the beach.
